Chris Smither, an American original singer/songwriter, will perform his eloquent blend of pure folk and New Orleans blues.

Smither grew up in New Orleans and first came on the folk music scene in the late 1960s. Recording and performing for four decades, he has refined his fingerpicked acoustic guitar and been-there done-that voice that are perfect for his original songs.

The first film of its kind to chronicle the reasons behind Iraq’s descent into guerilla war, warlord rule, criminality and anarchy, “No End in Sight” is a jaw-dropping insider’s tale of wholesale incompetence, recklessness and corruption. Based on over 200 hours of footage, the film provides a candid retelling of the events following the fall of Baghdad in 2003 by high ranking officials as well as Iraqi civilians, American soldiers and prominent analysts.

Farrell Sr. Forum of Saint Xavier’s Renaissance Academy, a collegial association of retired and semi-retired men and women who share learning experiences and intellectual growth in a friendly, relaxed academic setting. Geared for people age 16 to 30, the event - sponsored by the BAC's Young Adult Board - will include a costume contest with cash prizes, live music, cash bar for participants over age 21, and a screening of “Young Frankenstein.”

Live music follows the film screening in the BAC atrium, where the over-21 crowd can also enjoy cash bar.

Persons who wear costumes to this Halloween evening event can participate in a costume contest. Prizes are: first place $100, second place $75, and third place $50.
