A limited amount of 'Autographed' books will be available - including "Southside Kid".
Marybeth and Colleen will be prepared to discuss Mr. Erler's new novel. Excerpts below;
“Mantilla Lady” begins on a cold...half frozen baseball diamond one early spring morning on Chicago’s Southside. After surviving yet another of the Midwest’s brutally cold and inconsiderate winters. A rag-tag team...The Mid-City Zephyrs...prepares to fight and claw its way through another season of semi-pro’ baseball.
With this said...this story is really much less of baseball...and far more of people...of places...beautiful music and most importantly...there is a love story hiding between these covers. The story of one young man’s longing for the love and companionship of an elusive young woman.
This woman has more than one mission in her young years. She is more driven by her devotion to a loving Mother...a widow...who is now in her dying days...in need of her loving care. This young lady also has a devout dedication to her church and her God.

These lyrics seem to flow as I sip my warm Cognac and write...
"Sometimes when the street lamps would die...
And dawn would...once again...
Light the morning sky....
~~~~~~~~
Waking from a dream...
Only silence would ring in my ears...
I would talk to you...think of you...
Wondering...do you ever think of me...
When it was quiet...I could hear you sing...”
In “Mantilla Lady” the Skipper asks The Kid; “What will you write about?”
“I’m going to write true stuff...I’ll write about people...I love people. I believe that God gave me the right to be what I really want to be...a writer. Hell...maybe I’ll be a real author!”
