Categorized under:
Neighbors in Mount Greenwood and Beverly have been the victims of three robberies committed on Valentine's Day alone.
The first occurred in Mount Greenwood, where a woman approached an 80-year-old woman from behind as she walked up the steps of her house at approximately 11:05 a.m. Feb. 14 in the 10800 block of South Albany Avenue. The robber snatched the woman's purse and fled with a man in a red two-door vehicle, according to police. The purse contained $500, the victim told police.
The second robbery occurred less than an hour later when a 19-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint in the 10000 block of South Damen Avenue. Two men - one armed with a handgun - stole the victim's wallet and MP3 player and fled in a red Chevrolet Malibu.
At approximately 8:20 p.m. three men - one armed with a handgun - stole the wallet of a third victim in the 10800 block of South Hale Avenue. They fled in what the victim described as a red Chevrolet Malibu.
Police are investigating the possibility of a link between the three crimes.
