Jim Peterik's Lifeforce will perform its premiere concert at Beverly Arts Center.

The Grammy-winning rock-and-roller -- formerly of Survivor and The Ides of March -- has transitioned to a fresh approach to smooth jazz for his new band.

Singer/songwriter Jim Peterik has been performing since the mid-1960s when he joined popular Chicago band The Ides of March. He wrote the band's million seller hit "Vehicle," which went to #2 on the Billboard chart and popelled the band to national recognition.

Peterik's "Eye of the Tiger," the theme for the movie "Rocky III," spent six weeks in the #1 spot on Billboard, and won a Grammy.

Tickets for Jim Peterik's Lifeforce are $25 and available from the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., by calling 773-445-3838 or online at www.beverlyartcenter.org.
