Feb 7

A long standing tradition of Mardi Gras in many communities, is to spend Fat Tuesday indulging in sweets, meats, and baked goods to a high degree, preparing for the fasts and sacrifices of lent. There is no more perfect indulgence than the Paczki.

Paczki are round sugar coated, fruit filled Polish pastry. Originally Paczki were prepared to use up the lard and eggs, which were prohibited during lent. No one will ever agree on how to pronounce them, but everyone will agree that you cannot eat just one or even two!

The Blue Moon CoffeeHouse is taking orders now for your delicious Fat Tuesday indulgences! Order from a variety of flavors, including the supremely indulgent deluxe Strawberry or Whipped Cream deluxe. Place your order by Friday the 12th, and pick up your delivery on Fat Tuesday, the sixteenth. When you stop in, make your reservation for Mardi Gras Prix Fixe dinner on Saturday the 13th, featuring New Orleans Jazz by the Beverly All-Stars and a three course meal for only $15 per person!

Tell Us About Your Neighbors

We all know someone who’s worth the recognition, that neighbor or friend or family member who has an interesting story to tell … but one that not enough people know about. There’s enough bad news today that a little good news about our own neighbors could be just the right thing to keep us focused on what really matters: our community. So why not spread the word? Let us know in 200 words or less why you think someone deserves a little extra recognition. You’ll automatically receive 10 points (50 if we feature that person). Send a Neighbor Name to us.
